2 November 2004. Tuesday.
Helloooo how's it going? I am currently in the midst of my final year exams... i had my CS401 Media Law and Ethics paper today and boy was it a killer! The thing is, you also don't know if you're truly right or wrong, after all it deals with ethics and moral beliefs and hence ultimately depends on the individual.... so.... don't know how that will go... Other than being a nerd and sleeping an average of 3.5h a night, I have also been running quite a bit -- to de-stress and to train for the singapore marathon. don't get me wrong, i'm not intending on winning it, much less coming in top 3. just want to enjoy the race, pain-free! anyway running is a great way to let your mind wander.... i've also been swimming of course, it being my weakest discipline. in fact i just came back from swim training and we swam about 5.5k today and i felt really good, so that is a great sign. i've been doing mainly one session a day these couple of weeks, because of the exams, and actually i don't feel any bit weaker/slower, if anything more recharged! i suggest you guys take a nice break in the off season (while you can)! it does wonders. what else is going on.. yep i am racing the swissotel-the stamford vertical marathon this weekend, and (keeping my fingers crossed) i will try my best to win it again -- le-ann (winner 2002) and esther (basically inhuman athlete) will be there to push me so we shall see how that goes! i will be having my exams till the 18th of november so from now till then it's pretty much just study and some training here and there... and maybe a party now and then... haha no. actually i went for someone's farewell party last friday and that was my first party in a LONG LONG WHILE. ironically i was waaaaayyy off my revision sched but i still went down... well i won't be seeing this friend of mine ever again so of course i had to go (i'm gonna miss you!). right well at last i will get a good night's rest tonight so well, you take care and have fun this festive season.. right, i'm in the christmas mood already! ;)

15 November 2004. Monday.
wasssuuuuppppp! been awhile since i written anything here. well yeah it is STILL the exam period, two papers to go, one on tuesday (tomorrow) and then last one on thursday. man it's been a draggy exam period -- usually i am done in a week, this time it is taking me three weeks! i am pretty much sick and tired of studying. well not that i've been studying like, 8 hour days or anything. been actually training quite a bit, esp LSD runs... this morning i ran from my place to marina south, because the ironkids were having bike training there, so i thought might as well... it's the marathon route after all. think it was like, 21 or 22k and it was pretty boring..! well anyway i arrived at marina south and they were still cycling so i just took some time to enjoy the sun. when the kids came back we played soccer and also had wonderfully prepared kaya toast and sandwiches from the parents. i tell you, these kids are sooo lucky to have such supportive parents who buy them thousand dollar bikes (one kid even trains with zipp wheels, beat that!). the amount of money and time they invest in their li'l 7, 8 year old kids is amazing. gee, when i was 7 or 8, i was a fat, kentucky fried chicken lovin kid. these kids are HARDCORE, hopefully they won't burnout -- they are the future of triathlon in singapore! well i didn't win the vertical marathon last week, which is quite a pity because my time was SOOOO slow and if i had done my previous year's timing i would've won. oh well there are good days and bad days and i guess i just wasn't feeling too good that day -- and at least esther won! esther the monster... anyway no one better to lose to than to esther, she is such an awesome athlete. i won a tissot watch (which i am selling! wanna buy?), a night's stay at the presidential suite at swissotel-the stamford (big party coming up!!), a $100 dining voucher at the equinox, and a whole load of original source bath products. well seeing that i lost, i have decided to take part in a 10k race this week - the mizuno road run or whatever it is called. first prize $1000 among other things (like $800 worth of mizuno products, a heart rate monitor, etc). but aye, it is gonna be tough, i am not expecting to win it at all because there are loads of fast women out there, but i will try my best to get top 5 (cos that's where the money is!). wish me luck, catch ya later!! back to more studying (or pretending to). ciao!
