So this morning I ran a Commonwealth-River-Orchard-BTimah-SixthAve Loop, 22.73km according to MapMyRun in about two hours. If anyone can come up with a better name for that loop I’ll give you a prize… honest! Anyway, decided to run instead of do the usual CycleWorx ride today because I wanted to send Damo to the airport for his 9.30am flight. So we had to leave home by 7.30am, and I figured the best thing was to run easy for a couple of hours before. The past few days I’ve been sleeping in till 7am or 8am, but today I was hell bent on waking up at 4.45am (despite sleeping at about 11pm) to start my run at 5am so that I could see my baby off. It’s amazing how such a little thing like giving someone a lift can motivate me in my workout! It all went according to plan. I started at 5am, tried this new route, got hassled by drunkards at River Valley Road and Clarke Quay and two crazy old men at Orchard, and still made it home alive and in time.
After dropping Damo off I went to Borders at Wheelock because I had a $10 voucher that was expiring today. Unfortunately it was 8.40am and the shutters were still down, so I grabbed a Green Tea Frapp at Starbucks and read the paper while waiting. My purchase? Sports Illustrated’s Fifty Years of Great Writing. But before I begin reading it… I’m going to take a cat nap now. Gotta work later too. Oh, Damo’s just landed in Phuket.
