The great thing about Nike shoes is that you can put on their shoes fresh from the box and hit the road right away without having to suffer any discomfort. Thére’s hardly a Nike shoe I’ve worn that has needed wearing in.
The Nike Zoom Start+ is no different. I wore it for the first time on this morning’s run. The cushioning was amazing, very plush ride. Actually I was fiddling around with the shoe like a kid in a candy store when I got them from Andrew last Friday, bending the shoe, squishing the sole, admiring the Flywire-cum-mesh upper. My first impression was that the shoe felt like a pillow! Obviously I couldn’t wait to get out and test it. And it did not disappoint. I like that it’s in black too, cos my shoes get dirty just after one run and everything gets concealed in the black. I know it’s not hygienic…. :-) Anyway, the shoe is light (about 250g), albeit not as light as my usual training shoe, the Nike Lunar Trainers, I think. It also feels a bit softer than the Lunars, although I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve worn the Lunars to death. But I’ll defo be interchanging my Lunars wth these for my training runs. I like that it has Nike’s Zoom Air, because it’s low profile and does the job of shock absorbing, unlike Air Max which is bulky and just not my cup of tea. My only gripe would be the forefoot mesh upper was a bit too bulky for my liking. But the Flywire was fab! And it surely doesn’t hurt the earth — eco-friendly materials were used in the construction of the shoe.
It comes in more colours. Check it out here.
