Since the beginning of the year, Damo and I have made a conscious effort everytime we do our grocery shopping in Cold Storage to spend at least $30 or in multiples of $30. Because we are so bloody Singaporean (no he really is Irish but anyway) and we’re trying to get a free pot in the latest supermarket promo. Every $30 gets you one sticker. It’s pretty funny cos we have to have mental cashiers now when we shop, adding up everything in the basket to make sure we hit $30 and not go over by too much, or if it’s too much try to make it $60. So today I think I wanted to get bread and chocolate milk and potato chips - only - and so we ended up also getting oranges, car wash shampoo, two cartons of juice and one bottle of 100plus. I think that is all. We left out the $5.95 mango. Yeah anyway the promo ends in May, but the pot we want to get, the gargantuan 7.6 litre stock pot with lid, requires 55 stickers and I think we’ll reach that in a couple of weeks’ time. Big thanks goes to Simon and Jayne for donating about 15 stickers to us today — including a strip of 11 in a row (which means they spent at least $330 at a go, I believe it was wine that did the damage). Damo and I welcome sticker donations from anyone.
Of course the question still remains: how much really is the pot and doesn’t it make more sense to just buy the damn thing??
Damo doesn’t think so. I love the guy ;-)

abt the mental cashier and spending just about $30…i’ll do exactly the same and spend about $20, just to use credit card for rebates :)
