I persisted, I prayed, I prevailed. I left work at 6.30pm today and ran home, taking a slight detour to add a bit more mileage. Thankfully so — it was a big day of eating for me!
Certainly didn’t look like I was going to do any exercise at the start of the day. Woke up at about 9am feeling very tired. Lazed around for a bit, had some brekkie then baked Valrhona chocolate cupcakes for my colleagues (it’s tradition to buy front page or prime byline treats. I had a front page story on Thursday and a prime story today.) and got to work conveniently about an hour late at about 11.30am. Got straight to working on my story for tomorrow’s papers, had a quick yong tau foo with just broccoli and tofu along the way at about noon, then went for our monthly desk meeting at 2pm.
That meeting lasted for about an hour. There was food provided and I had a popiah and a soon kueh and a little chicken drumlet. After the meeting was over, I went back to working on my story. Got it done, ensured graphic was done, editor went through it and I made amendments. In between that I ate again — a three-inch Subway (complimentary delivered by a sports association), half a popiah and another chicken drumlet. That was about 6pm.
Decided it was enough gluttony and sloth for the day so I ran home.
Feel tons better now after a tall glass of chocolate milk and a bottle of H-TWO-O. And, hey, it’s the weekend. CycleWorx ride tomorrow morn then off to work in the arvo. Not too long more before Damo gets home on Sunday morn! Yaye!
Have yourself a good weekend too.
