I got back into running again last week. But after a 55min run on Tuesday I felt a bit of a twitch in my piriformis, so I decided to take more time off running. I’m amazed at the self-discipline I have now, able to tahan not running for a few days straight. A year back I would’ve just gone and whacked it anyway.
Today I decided to test my running legs again with a 40min or so run. Twas nice to get out after sleeping in this morning and skipping the CycleWorx ride cos of a late night yesterday celebrating Lee’s 104th birthday (he really is in his 30s). I ran a route I had never run before — amazing, isn’t it, that after all those training miles I can still find a route that I haven’t done? Am thinking of making it my regular intervals route from now on, because of its nice rolling course and low traffic. I powered up all the hills, pumping my arms and focusing on lifting my knees. The approaching storm made for great weather.
The verdict? My running legs and lungs are back!
