It’s a transition period for me now… you know, kinda like that feeling you get when you start a new job? Excited but worried; meeting new faces, places, characters; settling into a new rhythm.
So please accept my sincere apologies if I’ve not answered your phone call, replied your text, responded to your email, written back to your twitter or facebook messages…. in the past month or so. Apologies for the lack of postings here, even as many things have been happening in my life, as many miles have been swum, biked and run during this long silence.
Perhaps also is the lack of inspiration to blog. Precious time is better spent, I feel, in the real world rather than virtual, especially at times like these.
Well one update I can give is that I’ve left my car at home for nearly everyday in the past two weeks and have been biking to work. It’s the financially-, health- and environmentally-conscious thing to do. I’ve bought a new big bright rear light and two reflective ankle bands to ensure I’m well and truly seen on my night rides home. Riding home is peaceful and allows me to clear my mind from a day’s work. Riding to work, though, can be a bitch because it’s scorching out and the 20min journey doesn’t warrant that much sweat and another shower. At the end of the day, however, I believe the positives to my wallet, health and environment far outweight all the sticky, sweaty negatives.
Anyway, got a full day ahead… so I shall stop now.

hi boss. all the best with the exciting new chapter. altho i’m clueless about what it is, will bug u to meet up when things are more settled? take care! :)
Hi Jeanette,
Thanks very much for your interesting blog. It’s always nice to see how people on the other side of the globe live, how they share the same joys and sorrows, what they do in their free time, etc.
I actually have a question about your blog. Would you mind helping us with a linguistic research project? We’re compiling data from various Singaporean weblogs. All it requires is checking a few boxes. If you want to take part and/or have more questions, drop me a note ( hack2301@uni-trier.de RE: Question ) so that I can then send you the ‘official’ project eMail. We’d really appreciate your help.
Thanks very much in advance!
Best regards,
- Fran
PS: Thumbs up for leaving the car at home :)
