Breakfast loops

There are Fruit loops, and then there are Faber loops. The former I dislike for its excess sugar, the latter I love for its slopes. No surprise then that I chose to have the healthier option for breakfast today.

Honestly, it’s been a long time since I did a ride outside in the early morn. I think the last time must have been at least 3 to 4 months ago. I’ve been doing most of my rides on the computrainer, but with Damo’s cousin in town and sleeping on the living room couch I had no choice but to cycle outside. It was a wonderful change I must say. Though the trainer has many advantages, nothing beats the feeling of the wind in your face, the vibrations from the undulating road up your butt, the gradual climb that is Faber.

By the end of my fourth repeat it started to drizzle, but seeing it didn’t get any heavier at the end of my fifth I went for another loop. Barely up the first section the rain came down like a bucket overturned. Whoosh! So I gingerly descended the sixth and that would be my last. A little detour past Orchard and I was home, 40k in the bag and all set for Tuesday.

On my menu today, other than the obvious that is work, is a trip to Oakley for some Jawbone lovin. Mr Wong will be coming along too, in hope of getting a pair of prescriptions.

And so, in the words of the Black Eyed Peas, I’ve got a feelin that today’s gonna be a good good day.
