Finally, a CycleWorx team jersey that matches my bike.
The first Saturday ride of 2010 did not have full force, with some riders either still hungover or overseas. But it was a good ride nonetheless. Don’t ask me why but there is something comforting about being among a sea of Pinarellos (more and more Dogmas now) and CycleWorx jerseys (in pink-black, green-black for the new season or last season’s white-red). The pace wasn’t too bad, and I think I’m fitter on the bike now anyway. 110Ks went by pretty quickly.
A few years ago you wouldn’t have caught a guy cyclists dead in pink. Now they’re everywhere. Pink bike, jersey, whatever else. You know what they say, it takes a real man to wear pink…
Hope everyone had a good new year’s. I spent the first half the night at some bar along Robertson Quay with Damo and gang. After counting down with them I headed to Fio’s for her house-cooling party, where I caught up with some old school mates.

Was in bed by 2.30am, so didn’t have much of a hangover. Though the most productive thing I did yesterday, other than walking across the street for lunch, was baking a three-tiered carrot cake for my grandma’s birthday dinner tonight.
Oh well. Festivities end this weekend, ultra training begins on Monday. Bring it on!
