Running with the fittest man on the planet

Lucky me — and all thanks to Evan and Nicole from BPM Asia — I got to run with top triathlete Chris McCormack and his training campers this morning.

A slated rest day went out the window after arriving at Kallang Practice Track at 7am, initially just for an interview. But a runner will always be a runner, and a runner who sees another runner running will always join in, or at least be tempted to.

So after a few rounds of warm-up and some drills, the running vest was off and the heat was on — literally and figuratively. Macca had six 1Ks on the cards — divided into two sets and rounded off each with 400m all-out. I thought I wasn’t going to make it but it was alright in the end, and all the happy campers headed to brekkie at Coffee Bean at ECP.

In case you’re wondering, I may have ran with the world’s fittest man, but no, I couldn’t keep up. :-)
