Twenty eight

The birthday celebrations on Saturday kicked off bright and early with the Singapore Biathlon, my first swim-run race in god knows how long. I don’t do these races often, because it’s just not my forte. I can’t swim 1.5km or run 10km particularly fast. But it was fun to get out again and to compete alongside friends, some of whom I haven’t seen in a while.

Decided to test the new Speedo FSII I bought last week for a steal online. It was super comfortable and felt fast, though I would still stick to my good ol’ Nike race suit for triathlons cos it still is more comfy on the bike.

So I won $50 and a $50 swimsuit voucher for coming in seventh, just losing out on sixth place by four seconds. It didn’t matter though cos from fifth to 10th everyone got $50 anyway! Hahaha. Waited around for my prize then cycled back to the car at Fort Road and drove home, where we lazed and watched Paris-Nice re-runs till it was time for dinner.

Damo booked us a place at La Strada. He had earlier in the week left my birthday present there, so you can imagine my surprise when a huge, heavy package was presented to me by the server. At first I thought it was a cookbook but upon ripping the wrapping… it turned out to be a macbook pro. I’m totally undeserving of such a lovely present!

Thanks for the macbook pro baby!

After dinner we headed home for more cycling on the telly, to wrap up an awesome birthday.

On Sunday, it was Ben’s turn to celebrate, so we headed to Sentosa for a chilled out afternoon (but not before an easy 40min run!).
