The D-word

A friend remarked yesterday that it’s time I started dating again. I nearly attacked him with my mocha. Seriously? Yes, he said, why not? You’re looking good and little M is no longer a baby. Uh, where the heck do I find the time to date? Make time, he said. Okay, here’s the deal. Between full-time work to to make ends meet and attempting to be the best mom I can be, there isn’t much time left for sleep or even to enjoy a meal outside. I wake up on most days feeling like I’ve been run over by a truck – twice. Dating? Excuses, just make the time, he said. And just where is this fantastic guy going to appear from? Just go out, he said. Ha ha ha. I go out to the grocery store or bakery, for work meetings or a quick run, that’s it. I don’t think I’ll meet anyone in these places. Trust me, I’d love to have a complete family. I’d love to have testosterone around the house. I’ve love for little M to have a man to look up to daily. I’ve love for her to have a sibling. I’d love for comforting arms after a tough day. I’d love to love and be loved. And, yes, I’d love to start dating again. But first I need to find the time, the energy, and then a good man.

The Runners

Love the girl at 1:39…

“You’re not supposed to look for signs… you’re just supposed to let life happen.”

And with that, off for a run!

P.s. “Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

P.p.s. “Bear in mind the past and the future, but don’t ever let them rob you of the present, cos that’s all you got.”

Let go(d)

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

On forgiveness

Matthew 18:21-22

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

My feeble and amateurish – but heartfelt – attempt at singing Hillsong’s Cornerstone.

Cornerstone from jeanette wang on Vimeo.

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly trust in Jesus’ name

Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong, in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm
He is Lord, Lord of All

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil

Then He shall come with trumpets sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
faultless, stand before the throne
